Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is both Son of God and Son of Man. He was born of the virgin Mary by the power of God. He was born of our nature, and tempted as we are, yet without sin. In his victory over Sin, through his death upon the cross, and by his glorious resurrection from the dead, he has opened up the way of life for all mankind.

Behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit; she will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. - Matthew 1:20-21

The angel said to Mary, the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you, therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. - Luke 1:35

When the time had fully come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, to redeem those who were under the Law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. - Galatians 4:4-5

In the days of his flesh Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard for his godly fear. Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. - Hebrews 5:7-8

For surely it is not with angels that he (God) is concerned, but with the descendants of Abraham. Therefore he (Jesus) had to be made like his brethren in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful High Priest in the service of God, to make expiation for the sins of the people. For because he himself has suffered and been tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted. -  Hebrews 2:16-18

There is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all. - 1Timothy 2:5-6
