Baptism

Baptism - following belief in the Gospel - unites the believer with Jesus, the Saviour. Baptism - by total immersion in water - is symbolic of a burial and rising again to a new life in Christ, and betokens the washing away of past sins and entry into the church of God, with the hope of eternal life in the Lord’s kingdom at his advent.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. - Matthew.28:19-20

And Jesus said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. - Mark 16:15-16

Jesus answered him, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God. - John 3:3

Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. - John 3:5

Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. - Acts 2:28

All of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into his death. We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. - Romans 6:3-4

In Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek; there is neither slave nor free; there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise. - Galatians 3:26-29
